This is a quiet little state park. The reason we went was to see the first Washington monument. But there is so much to do here. There are hiking trails and a playground and picnic area (2 actually).… Full review by Garrett S

Very small state park with a short hike up to the monument. Beautiful vistas await you. Factoids of GW along the path. Nothing much else here but a few picnic pavilions and restrooms. Full review by J8896YQlauries

The museum is rather small w/printed informative posters, old photos & a relief map. Depending on how much u want to read, it shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes or so. The hike to the monument itself varies depending on which way you choose to get up there. Parking at the upper parking lot and walking the 1/3 mi. to the monument, climbing up inside & walking around to see the spectacular view of the valley below also depends on how much time you want to spend. The 1/3mi walk & back shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes total. We hiked from the AT (Appalachian Trail) parking lot on Rt.40 & back. That was 4 miles round trip. A really nice, wooded, moderate hike w/moderate elevation (The hike itself took us approx. 1-1/2 up & 1-1/2 back). Ultimately, it's which way you choose to go up and how long you want to spend. W/the hike and touring around the monument as well as walking around some civil war battlefield markers near the trailhead where our car was parked, we spent a total about 4-5 hours. IOW: A good day's outing.
