We wanted to climb the summit in April and it had already snowed and we could only reach the hut. We had a nice clear day early on but when we reached the hut we were surrounded by clouds and it was around -11 degrees. So I would presume that there will be more snow around the mountain in July-August, so if you got a clear day for climbing the summit you would definitely need all the appropriate winter climbing gear like crampons. Obviously the weather there changes every day so your best shout is contacting their visitor centre the day before.
