The Alum Rock Union School District’s board of trustees voted on Monday night to close at least six schools and merge several others over the next two years.

Board of Education held a meeting Monday night to approve the closures of several schools. Effective for the 2025-26 school year, four elementary schools and two middle schools will shut down. Other schools in the Alum Rock neighborhood of East San Jose are either redesigning

To deal with a budget deficit and a sizable enrollment drop, the schools will close at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.
