The Bharatiya Janata Party won a historic mandate in Delhi polls on Saturday, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years by ousting Aam Aadmi Party with several AAP leaders including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal losing from their strongholds.

Counting of votes for the Delhi assembly polls is taking take place in 19 counting stations, spreading across 11 districts of the city to decide whether the AAP will come to power for a fourth term or the BJP will form a government in the national capital after more than 26 years.

In a significant development following the Delhi elections, the BJP has instructed senior officials at the Delhi Secretariat to ensure the protection of all government documents and data. This comes amidst concerns over potential tampering or disappearance of files.
