Dune: Part Two star Josh Brolin has made his opinion about next year's Oscar nominations well known in advance.

Josh Brolin certainly has a flare for the dramatics. The actor threatened to “quit acting” if “Dune: Part Two” director Denis Villeneuve doesn’t get nominated for a best director Oscar for the second installment.

Conspicuously missing from that capacious list was, of course, Best Director — a truly mystifying omission on the part of the Academy considering Villeneuve pulled off the impossible by successfully adapting Frank Herbert's supposedly "unfilmable" book.

Josh Brolin has a bone to pick with the academy. The actor, 56, shared that the Oscars got it wrong when they failed to nominated his “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve for the 2021 sci-fi movie. This year, Villeneuve is up for consideration for the award again for “Dune: Part Two.”

This year’s Oscar nominations are set to be revealed on January 17. According to Brolin’s IMDB, he has two films in production, Weapon and The Running Man, and will more than likely appear in the third Dune film. So, either the Academy gets it right, or else we riot.

Villeneuve was nominated for Best Director in the past, for his 2016 sci-fi drama Arrival, which earned one Oscar win, for Best Sound Editing, from a total of eight nominations. D
