NASSAU, The Bahamas—Tony Finau has pulled out of the Hero World Challenge. Finau was removed from Tiger Woods’ exhibition event in the Bahamas on Sunday night. As of Monday morning no reason was given from Finau or the PGA Tour for his withdrawal.

The Hero World Challenge is enjoying a special year in 2024. Tiger Woods will be the tournament host for the 25th time this week, as his event heads to Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas for the annual season-silly kickoff. A field of 20 golfers will battle it out over 72 holes of stroke play to determine a winner.

Tony Finau has pulled out of the Hero World Challenge. Finau was originally listed in the 20-man field for this week’s tournament at Albany in the Bahamas, but an updated field list posted by the PGA Tour on Monday morning did not include Finau and instead listed Sepp Straka as one of three sponsor exemptions.

Perhaps Tony Finau will join LIV Golf after all. After initially committing to this week’s Hero World Challenge, the 20-man event hosted by Tiger Woods every December, Finau pulled out at the last minute due to undisclosed reasons.
