Semaj Wilkins, a 14-year-old freshman at New Brockton High School, died in August after collapsing at the start of afternoon football practice.

The Bee will run its annual All-Metro teams after the CIF State championships in December, including this poll’s “People’s Choice” winner. Vote as often as you’d like. Pass the word and then vote some more. Voting ends Saturday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. Is this a popularity contest? It most certainly is, but it’s all rooted in fun.

For the first time in the playoffs, fans can cast their vote for their favorite performance from north Alabama high school football action. Coaches can submit statistics following their games on Friday night or nominate players before noon each Saturday.
