Detroit — The penalty kill simply isn't improving, and it's beginning to cost the Red Wings dearly. Friday's 5-4 loss to New Jersey was largely caused by the Devils scoring three power play goals, including rallying in the game with two late first period power play goals, that snuffed the momentum the Wings had.

They couldn’t sustain it, however, and the New Jersey Devils battled back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Red Wings 5-4 at Little Caesars Arena. The Devils (16-8-2) scored three times on the power play against the league’s worst-rated penalty kill.
