The site of the nation's most serious nuclear reactor accident could reopen by 2028 with Microsoft as its sole customer.

Three Mile Island's Unit 1 reactor is set to be reopened for use following a new deal between Microsoft and Baltimore-based Constellation Energy Corporation.

Three Mile Island, the site of the worst nuclear accident in U.S. history, is opening up once again. Microsoft and Constellation Energy, which owns the plant, have struck a deal that will see the plant’s undamaged reactor resume operations to power Microsoft’s AI data centers.
