BENGALURU: Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal has stepped down from PhonePe board, the payments company announced on Friday. This comes nearly 10 months after he exited Flipkart board. Bansal acquired PhonePe in 2016 and has been on its board since then.

Binny Bansal steps down from PhonePe’s board, ending his long-term association with the company after supporting its growth since Flipkart’s acquisition of PhonePe in 2016.

PhonePe has appointed Manish Sabharwal as an independent director, replacing Binny Bansal. He will also chair the audit committee and help strengthen internal controls.
