House Republicans adopted a blueprint for President Trump’s sweeping legislative agenda package Tuesday night, managing to hold onto their slim majority despite repeated threats from recalcitrant members to derail

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) just cast the deciding vote for President Donald Trump’s budget bill on behalf on Rep. David Schweikert (R-Arizona). Schweikert handed Johnson his voting card. Johnson cast the vote, and handed it back. That was the vote that put Republicans over the top.

The party-line vote came after a dramatic day of arm-twisting in the House, with all but one Republican ultimately backing the budget resolution.

The House of Representatives voted Tuesday night 217 to 215 to advance the GOP budget plan and President Donald Trump's agenda as they move toward a compromise deal with the Senate.
