Police have arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting in west Tampa on Thursday. Derrick Devard Smith, 30, of Tampa faces a second-degree murder charge in the shooting of a 32-year-old man, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Tampa Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon on Century Park Drive. 30-year-old Derrick Smith was taken into custody and charged with murder following an investigation into the death of a 32-year-old man.

A man is in custody after a deadly shooting in Tampa Thursday afternoon, police said. The Tampa Police Department said they responded to the shooting at around 3:45 p.m. in the 1000 block Century Park Drive.
