MITCHELL — Mitch Garrett gets a hot cup of coffee to go with his meal Wednesday from the kitchen counter at the Salvation Army of Mitchell. It’s chilly outside with a few snowflakes beginning to fall, but inside the aroma of turkey, ham and other Thanksgiving staples make the room feel cozy and warm.

TRAVERSE CITY - The holidays bring everyone together, and the Salvation Army has brought the community together by serving a thanksgiving meal for those in need. “There’s a lot of people that care and just kind of helps bring you up your spirits,” says Nicole Weirs.
