U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Virginia) appeared on Saturday Night Live poking fun at himself. FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Just days before Election Day, U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Virginia) made a surprise cameo on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, which drew criticism from his Republican opponent Hung Cao.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia is vying for a third term against a GOP challenger who is trying to become the first Republican in the state since 2002 to win a seat to the upper chamber. Hung Cao broke through to win a crowded Republican primary and face off against Kaine, who won reelection in 2018 by 16 percentage points.

While all eyes are on the presidential race, control of the Senate is at stake, and that includes a seat in Virginia, as Republican challenger Hung Cao looks to unseat incumbent Democrat Tim Kaine, who has held the seat for the past 12 years.

CBS 6 Political Analyst Dr. Bob Holsworth says while Cao has an impressive military career and background story as a Vietnamese immigrant, he predicts Kaine will coast into reelection.
