Pumpkin growers on Friday hauled the heftiest of their harvest to the Topsfield Fair, which opened its 10-day run with the 40th Annual All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off.

A new pumpkin champion was named at the Topsfield Fair Friday, with a Massachusetts pumpkin taking home the top prize.

The largest pumpkin ever entered at the fair was a 2022 monster weighing almost 2,500 pounds. Will they squash the record this year?
