The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding outdoor enthusiasts to be careful on the ice following four fatal ATV incidents.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reminding snowmobiles and ATV/UTV rides that no ice is completely safe. According to a press release from the DNR, there have recently been several incidents of recreational vehicles breaking through the ice across the state.

Following five water-related deaths across the state due to UTVs or snowmobiles falling through ice, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources shares reminders on staying safe while on the ice.

DNR wardens have reported six fatal off-highway vehicle incidents this year, with four of them being UTVs that went through ice.

So far this year, there have been six fatal UTV incidents; four out of those six incidents involved UTVs going through the ice.
