While there are tons of things to be excited about on the new wearable, some of our favorite things about the Apple Watch 10 are its new health and fitness features. A brand new AI engine powers new features like sleep apnea detection, along with more accurate crash and fall detection and exercise tracking.

T his week, Apple announced that its devices will have two new health-related capabilities: your Apple Watch will soon be able to tell if you have sleep apnea, and your AirPods Pro 2 can now double as hearing aids for those who need them.

The company unveiled “groundbreaking” technology including AirPods that function as “clinical grade” hearing aids and sleep apnea detection capabilities.

An overarching theme in Apple's new line of products was new actionable health insights for users, including the ability for the AirPods Pro 2 to double as over-the-counter hearing aids.

However, yesterday the FDA approved the new Apple Watch (a.k.a. the Apple Watch Series 10) to detect symptoms of sleep apnea and notify users of possible cases. While this new tech won’t be able to diagnose sleep apnea, it can highlight common symptoms that will help a doctor diagnose you.

But buried in this yawn-fest of an article was a bombshell that apparently didn't register on their innovation Richter scale: The Apple Watch can now detect sleep apnea, and AirPods can now function as hearing aids.
