The defending champion New York Knicks are set to open the 2026-27 season with a home game against the Philadelphia 76ers. With the coaching staff and players receiving their rings before tip-off, New York is going all-in with the gold theme against Philly.

The first of those weeks starts at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks received their championship rings and raised the franchise’s first title banner since 1973 before Tuesday’s 7 p.m. opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, who face New York twice in the Knicks’ first six games.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 21 points (6-of-19 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), five rebounds, three assists and one three-pointer in a 106-100 loss to the 76ers on Tuesday.
