Officials have confirmed that more than 100 people were infected by a severe E. Coli outbreak linked to slivered onions on McDonald’s Quarter Pounders, Forbes reported. The infections sent 34 people to the hospital and left four with a potentially life-threatening kidney condition called hemolytic uremic syndrome.

That's up from the 90 infections, 27 hospitalizations and two HUS cases reported in the FDA's last update on Oct. 30. One death has been linked to the outbreak, and a 15-year-old girl reportedly received dialysis for 10 days as she battled kidney failure. The person who died was not one of the four people who developed HUS.
