Millennium Park is located a little more than 6 miles southwest of downtown Grand Rapids. The park is free to visit, but certain attractions, such as the beach and splash pad, charge admission fees.

Others embrace the rodent's decision, like Don Kern, an avid marathon runner and organizer of the Groundhog Marathon. After visiting the Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Kern had an idea.
