The Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) is now operating in 16 states, according to a new Homeland Security memo cited by the New York Post.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is warning residents about the presence of a violent Venezuelan street gang called Tren de Aragua. TBI Director David Rausch said intelligence the agency has gathered suggests the gang is in Tennessee after it was previously believed to be gone following past arrests.

According to a report in the New York Post, Homeland Security officials were warned in an intelligence memo about the group’s rapidly expanding presence.

There is growing concern among the police over an increase in Venezuelan gang activity across New York City. The NYPD believes some gang members are recruiting children living in migrant shelters, and that the members have blended in with the asylum seekers who began to arrive in the Big Apple in 2022.
