NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A big change is coming on Thanksgiving Day. A cold front moving across the state will bring rain and storms in the morning. Some storms could be strong to severe in our eastern areas if we get enough heating in the early morning. Most areas will just see some showers.

Today’s high temperature will be met in the morning hours. After the cold front passes through, we will cool down into the 60s for the rest of the day. A chance of rain remains for the morning as the front passes.

A light shower is possible later in the day and a better chance for a storm comes early Thursday. Much cooler air pushes south on Thanksgiving with temperatures gradually falling through the day. Be prepared to bundle up for the Tulane game on Thursday night and a passing shower is possible.

We're off to a wet start to the morning, but the showers don't stick around long. By mid-morning, most of the wet wintry mix will have cleared, and we'll be drier into the afternoon.
