LONDON -- Russia launched an unusually large drone attack on Ukraine overnight into Tuesday, shortly before Moscow's representatives opened talks with a U.S. delegation in Saudi Arabia on ending Russia's three-year full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Russia and the U.S. agreed Tuesday to start working toward ending the war in Ukraine and improving their diplomatic and economic ties, the two countries' top diplomats said after talks that reflected an extraordinary about-face in U.

Ukraine’s military said Russia launched a barrage of 147 attack drones against Ukraine overnight. Out of this, the Ukrainian Air Force reported shooting down 83, while 59 did not reach their targets. Several storage facilities and private residences were reported damaged.
