After the formation of the interim government headed by Muhammad Yunus, minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus, have come under severe attack by Islamist extremists in the country.

Several social media posts and reports by Indian news outlets claim that the lawyer defending ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was hacked to death in Bangladesh during recent violence in Chattogram.

On this, the group clarified that Das was not an official member of the organisation and it did not attempt to distance itself from him.
