While Square Enix is remaking Final Fantasy 7 with a full trilogy, recent leaks have pointed to the existence of a Final Fantasy 9 remake. There hasn't been any mention of an FF6 remake in the leaked databases of either the Epic Games Store or Nvidia. If it exists, it's a very secretive project.

Producer Masaaki Hayasaka believes it would make sense since that Final Fantasy 6 heavily influenced the HD-2D art style.
