Marking the one-month anniversary of the Eaton and Palisades fires, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass says it has been 31 days since the city launched the largest disaster recovery operation in the city's history.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass provided an update on wildfire recovery efforts a month after the Eaton, Palisades and Hurst fires first erupted.

While visiting a shelter for wildfire survivors in Westwood, former Vice President Kamala Harris said Thursday an increasingly longer California fire season is requiring leaders think about how they can "do better" in handling the natural disasters.

Asked during her visit on Thursday if she was considering running for governor of California, Ms. Harris did not give a direct answer, but did not rule it out either.
