The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC fought hard against Rhode Island FC in the USL Championship Game on Saturday morning. For the first time in ten seasons, the Switchbacks have secured the USL Championship title,

Rhode Island is the first expansion club to reach the league finals since Sporting Kansas City II in 2016 and the first club to do it out of the Eastern Conference. The 2014 Sacramento Republic FC club is the only expansion team to win the season’s final game.

Chambers and team captain Matt Mahoney played together for Bethlehem Steel where Chambers served as a veteran presence and team captain to help bring along talented players in the Philadelphia Union academy.
