A tense debate between a Texas town and the LDS Church leads to rare compromise on the proposed McKinney Temple.

Town council unanimously approved a non-binding agreement with the Church of Jesus Christ for a smaller McKinney Texas Temple, which now faces rounds of public comment and official votes.

Fairview may be nearing a resolution to its ongoing dispute with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints over the construction of a new temple. Last week, both parties went into mediation, which resulted in significant compromises from both sides.
