The good news is, the Trump administration’s controversial approach to food safety will only matter to Americans who eat food.

The Trump administration shut down two critical food safety committees, cutting off expert advice to the USDA, FDA, and CDC. The panels, which included top scientists and researchers, were working on preventing deadly foodborne illnesses and advising on regulatory standards.
