Millions of people across the central and eastern U.S. could see snow or rain through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, forecasters said.

Snow continues this morning, but quickly tapers off in the afternoon. A few inches of accumulation are expected.

The majority of the snow will be ending Wednesday, but not until it has dumped 1 to 2 feet of snow in the mountains.

Much of the country will experience dry, cool weather for Thanksgiving. The exception will be in parts of the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
