One day after 63-30 defeat at South Florida, Kevin Wilson is out as Tulsa football coach after posting 7-16 record in two seasons.

There’s still some tradition here, and the job can pay well, but resources elsewhere in the program have been hard to come by.

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa fired football coach Kevin Wilson on Sunday and will elevate wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer on an interim basis for the remainder of the season.

Tulsa tabbed wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer as the interim head coach, although Moore said the school will hold a national search for a new coach.

Wilson's opportunity at Tulsa was his second head coaching opportunity. He led Indiana for six seasons from 2011-16, building them into a program that was at the bottom of the Big Ten to two straight bowl trips. He ended with a 26-47 record with the Hoosiers after back-to-back six-win seasons.
