Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and Yankees' Aaron Judge headlined the 2024 Silver Slugger winners, MLB announced on Tuesday.

Silver Slugger Awards have been around since 1981. Three Dodgers winning the honor are the most for them in one year. Betts won his 7th Silver Slugger, and his 4 with LA are second-most in team history.

Major League Baseball's 2024 awards season is underway and, Monday night, MLB and the Baseball Writers Association of America revealed the top three finalists for each of the four major awards. Those are Rookie of the Year,

Ohtani would also become the 12th player in history to win at least three MVP awards. Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Roy Campanella, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Albert Pujols, Stan Musial, Mike Trout, Alex Rodriguez and Mike Schmidt also won three MVPs. Only one player has won more — Barry Bonds (seven).

The top three finishers in voting for each of the major individual awards were announced Monday night. Winners will be revealed next week.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve and Dodgers utilityman Mookie Betts led the field of Silver Slugger honorees, which included seven first-time winners.
