While Southern New England saw a beneficial soaking rain, Northern New England received a Thanksgiving Day snowstorm.

Thanksgiving Day travel was rocked by both heavy rain and even snowfall in some spots, leaving last-minute commuters trapped in traffic or stuck inside packed airports, as the holiday rush turned

The storm is expected to reach its height between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. and could bring 3 to 6 inches of snow to inland areas of the state.

According to the NWS, the Seacoast will mostly see rain instead of snow. Most of Thursday's snowfall will happen in the northern parts of Maine and New Hampshire, while a wintry mix of rain and snow will fall over the central and western parts of the two states.

Some places in western Massachusetts saw over nine inches of snow after Thursday's winter weather. ST. LOUIS — Rain moves into the region this afternoon into this evening before ending before midnight.
