Fever president Kelly Krauskopf has a long-standing relationship with White, having selected her as a player in 2000 and later appointing her as head coach. During her initial tenure, White took the Fever to the WNBA Finals in her first season as head coach.

In the aftermath of the Fever firing Christie Sides on Sunday, Connecticut Sun coach Stephanie White has emerged as the candidate expected to become Indiana’s next coach, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Stephanie White's Connecticut Sun were 5-1 against the Fever, and Caitlin Clark said White "always had the best scouts against us."

The Indiana Fever is in Stephanie White’s DNA. She said so herself Monday afternoon, as the Hoosier native was introduced as the team’s next head coach. Most recently, White served as the head coach of the Connecticut Sun before returning for her second coaching stint with the Fever.
