A Lafayette County judge declared Jimmie "Jay" Lee, a missing Ole Miss student, legally dead more than two years after Lee's disappearance.

A Lafayette County judge has declared Ole Miss student Jimmie "Jay" Lee legally dead. Jimmie "Jay" Lee, 20, was last seen July 8, 2022 leaving an apartment complex in Oxford. Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr., 22, of Grenada, was arrested less than a month after Lee's disappearance. Herrington is awaiting trial on a capital murder charge.
