Microsoft is opening up access to its controversial Recall feature on Copilot+ PCs starting today. Those who have an eligible system and are enrolled in the Windows Insider program can now check out a preview of the feature,

Microsoft is finally rolling out Recall AI on Copilot+ PCs in the Insider channel. Those who don't want the AI feature can uninstall it entirely.

The reminders also lack information about the Extended Security Update (ESU) program, an alternative for Windows 10 users like the Home users can receive one additional year of security updates for a one-time fee of $30, while schools, businesses, and other organizations can access up to three years of extended support.

At its Ignite conference this morning, Microsoft put the spotlight on new AI experiences coming soon to Copilot+ PCs.

The feature comes with previously announced privacy-related changes, but for now, Recall is only available in a preview Windows 11 build for Qualcomm-powered Copilot+ PCs.

Like its AI, this automated screenshotter and logger is a feature not exactly everyone wanted Microsoft has initiated a limited public preview of its Windows Recall system – about six months after its unveiling sparked backlash over privacy and security concerns.

Microsoft is positioning its contentious Recall feature for Windows 11 as a headline capability for Copilot+ laptops. So it’s kind of weird that when the previously delayed tool went live, it only did so for x64-based machines and not Arm-based Snapdragon laptops that made such a splash earlier this year.
