New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo gave an update on safety Kyle Dugger’s ankle injury. Dugger has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears after missing practice the entire week. The injury has been nagging the veteran safety for multiple weeks, but according to Mayo, it isn’t expected to keep him out for the season.

Midway through his Friday morning press conference, Patriots coach Jerod Mayo took a curious detour. He pivoted, voluntarily, from discussing the merits of choosing a go-ahead two-point conversion versus a game-tying extra point to his personal growth as a head coach.
