Former Major League Baseball pitcher Joe Coleman has died, according to the Associated Press. He was 78 years old. Coleman, who finished off his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, died in his sleep on Wednesday in Jamestown, Tennessee, his son Casey told the AP.

Alabama's most recent first round pick is right-handed pitcher Ben Hess, who was selected with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft by the New York Yankees. Hess is currently in the minor leagues of the organization, rated by MLB as the Yankees No. 3 overall prospect.
