John Goodman's home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles was reduced to rubble, as seen in a photo obtained by PEOPLE, while fires continue to burn throughout the city

As of Thursday, the Palisades fire had reached 15,000 acres, spreading to Malibu and Topanga and torching homes and restaurants along the Pacific Coast Highway. One resident told the Washington Examiner ’s video producer Natasha Sweatte that his community is coming together in this time of crisis.

A brush fire broke out Tuesday near the Pacific Palisades, a coastal neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles, and quickly exploded.
