The annual Thanksgiving holiday travel rush is underway as tens of millions hit the road and head to airports, but severe weather is already having an impact on travel plans across the country. Record rain in Northern California has triggered flooding and mudslides and parts of the Northeast are digging out of heavy snowfall.

Forecasters are increasingly calling for a cold, soggy Thanksgiving week as west-to-east winter-pattern storms continued to roll across the continental landscape.
