Jan 11, 2021 · Vertical is the way. Use both hand hold your ps5 with one hand and plug the cable with the other hand. I have the same problem. I have been hoping someone releases third party side panels that have built in stand or legs of some kind. I keep mine vertical but I thought it snaps on when horizontal.

Even though this really is a first world problem so to speak, it's an outrageous oversight in terms of a design flaw for such an expensive piece of kit. Even if you follow the instructions in the PS5 manual to set-up the stand correctly in horizontal mode, it still isn't secure in any meaningful way.

It works vertically, but now with the recent issues about vertical orientation making the liquid metal (thermal conduct) being spilled all over some boards making your PS5 completely useless.
